Rob Moy

Robert “Rob” Lee Moy, Jr. was born in Warren, Ohio on April 28,1967. Even as young boy, Rob had a heart for helping others. As a grade school child growing up in Ohio, Rob’s dream was to be a taxi driver so that he could drive senior citizens to Meloni’s Market to purchase their groceries.

After high school graduation, Rob served in the Army for four years and was a veteran of Desert Storm. He completed his military career and joined the Security Services team at then Scottsdale Memorial Hospital (now Scottsdale Healthcare Osborn Medical Center). Rob enjoyed a fulfilling career that spanned more than 14 years at Scottsdale Healthcare and was a close friend to many.

Aside from family and work, Rob was an avid biker and member of a local Christian motorcycle group. He clocked close to 80,000 miles on his cherished motorcycle. While he thrived on his time on the road, his pride and joy were his three young daughters. He was a devoted father and family man.

In early 2009, Rob had a vision to organize a motorcycle run to support the Gift of Life Lodging program at Scottsdale Healthcare’s Virginia G. Piper Cancer Center. He championed for and quickly organized an energetic committee comprised of Scottsdale Healthcare employees. Rob’s goal was to help these cancer patients through his passion and network of motorcycle enthusiasts. Sadly, he left us before he had the chance to see his dream come true; however, Rob’s vision and legacy will continue through the run and will benefit others for years to come.
